Normally, these kinds of blogs are written on the last day of every month or at the end of the year, but as December quietly just trickled into January, here I am at the end of the first month of the new year trying to tell you about those two months. Interesting? Read on…
A couple of books – Tears of the Giraffe by Alexander McCall Smith and Salman Khan by Mohar Basu. Yes, I have finished neither yet! 😣
Cards, cards and more cards. Rummy, Hazaare, Trophies, UNO-No Mercy, Five Alive, TACO CAT GOAT CHEESE PIZZA (don’t ask!) and more. I sort of learnt a new card game called Exploding Kittens. I’m still getting the hang of it.
Movies – ‘No Hard Feelings’, ‘Haq’, ‘Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery’ and ‘My Secret Santa’. Also, watched ‘Dhurandhar’ in the cinema. I found it to be a good movie with great acting. Ranveer Singh was all pumped up and looked hulky. Akshaye Khanna wore a wig and looked cool. Arjun Rampal and his voice! Sanjay Dutt and his serious comedy. I was shocked by R. Madhavan’s look! But, ultimately, I was happy that the serious characters did not suddenly start running around trees because they were in love. 😆
Series – I finally finished ‘Dexter’, ‘Dexter: New Blood’, ‘Dexter: Original Sin’ and ‘Dexter: Resurrection’. Also, finished ‘Man Vs Baby’ and the new season of ‘Four More Shots Please’. Awaiting Bridgerton’s new season! Watched a few episodes of ‘Liv and Maddie’ with my daughter. Currently, watching ‘The Rookie’ with the kids and planning to watch ‘Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials’ with them, too.
A crazy amount of ‘Phonk’ songs, courtesy of my son. Are you aware of this genre? I listen to trending English songs, courtesy of my daughter, a few old Hindi classic songs, courtesy of my mother and some latest Hindi remixes, courtesy of my hubby.
Yesterday, I asked Alexa to shuffle songs by MLTR after a long time. Today, it was Jim Reeves. Maybe I should do this more often.

Many new outfits due to my latest situation – pregnancy! 😂
Rice. Oh! And some pesto pasta, too! Yeah, carbs are my friends now, till April! 😉
Sushi on my birthday! Currently, eating a lot of rice with curries and vegetables, fish and meat. Fruits are always my favourites. We went out for steaks last week. I love them Blue Rare. 😋
Lots of milk and water. As instructed by my gynaecologist!
A few friends and family during the festive season.
Too many people, along with audio messages.
About how I would manage the two important days of my kids. My son received the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Communion on 17th January and my daughter received the Sacrament of Confirmation on 18th January.
For these religious events, there were a lot of weekends that went by in a jiffy since mid-October, with classes and rehearsals. I thought I wouldn’t be able to manage driving the kids to and fro. BUT, I DID IT! And I’m proud of myself! 😀
Everything will be alright till, during and after my delivery. Please keep us in your prayers. 🙏
Nothing because I wrote nothing.
A lot of my blogs. Trying to keep the promotion of my blog ongoing as much as possible. Even when I’m not writing!
A LOT! Mainly because hubby avoided driving after his surgery in November. I also drove long distances (within Bangalore only) for campaigns.
Being entertained by my kids. My daughter loves to show me the new dance steps she learns. I’m also loving the extra attention I’m getting due to my expanding tummy. 😜
Birthdays, Christmas, Weddings of friends and New Year’s. And, in January, the Holy Sacraments.
New outfits my mom brought because she was fed up seeing me outgrow my clothes and still wearing them. Hahaha!
A lot of things to eat.
God, for everything he has given us to date. Especially grateful for the friends and family who were around when hubby was in surgery, in the hospital and after that. Till now.
My life in 2026. No plans. No roadmaps. No travels. Just going easy with myself and aiming to focus on doing what I did 10 years ago! Feeding, burping, cleaning, changing, caring for, etc., a new baby. This time with more clarity, readiness and wisdom! Along with being a bit sleep deprived, shocked at how babies can be, surprised at their expressions, calm with my older kids and available to all three of them every day.
I doubt I would have time for much else. But, I still want to write regularly, promote my blog every week and take up a few interesting Instagram campaigns that come my way!
Exhausted at times with all the driving and waking up for school.
Proud when my kids did everything they were supposed to in order to receive their sacraments and pass their school exams. All during these two months.
Glad that everything went as planned. By God’s grace!
Very amused by all the reactions to my pregnancy announcement at 42! From shock to happiness, from confusion to excitement!😀
Relaxed because I’m sleeping a lot, through all the joy and chaos! Yes, I always make up for the exhaustion.

That’s all, folks! Right now, we are packing for this Friday! Praying for safe travels to Mumbai and back. So, see you on the other side! ♥️
Hope your 2026 is treating you well. Tell us about 2025 or your plans for 2026!

I loved reading your reflections on December and January and how you shared the small everyday moments, from movies and cards to family celebrations and hopes for the year ahead. Your honesty and joy really made the post fun to read.
Dear Cindy, Congratulations for your pregnancy. You are showing so much energy even when you are in the baby way and that is something incredible atleast in my opinion . Life is full of celebration and happenings and your DEcember to Jan journey talks just about them. Enjoy your life, take the best care of you, welcome the new baby like a rockstar and keep spreading positivity all around. Lots and lots of love,
Thank you, Samata!
Congratulations for your new baby – sending prayers and best wishes.
Loved reading about your months – what a lovely and blessed mix of days you’ve had…this is such a fun format.
Thank you, Ishieta!
Mine was almost similar to yours except thaat i practiced driving during the breaks that I got.
The reactions to your pregnancy announcement at 42 must have been something! I can imagine the shock and excitement. Many congratulations to you and your family.
Thank you, Felicia!
Wow!! You have watched some good movies!! I loved haq…
I learned Exploding Kittens sometime last year and it’s so fun and addictive, isn’t it?
I’m still getting used to it!
Cindy, this was so relatable. Unfinished books, nonstop card games, family music moods… all of it felt very real 😄 Truly an honest, easy read. Congratulations once again 😍
Thank you, Anjali!
Learnt so much from your post. Intriguing Card Game names, Phonk Songs. I agree with your view about Dhurandar, and I loved watching Haq.
What a wonderfully busy and blessed year you’ve had, Cindy! *Touchwood* Hoping for many lovely memories in 2026. Stay happy and healthy! Looking forward to your news!
Thank you, Varsha!
I really enjoyed this post — it felt like catching up with a friend about real life. The mix of everyday moments, family fun, movies, and even driving chaos made it feel so relatable. Your honesty about managing December and January reminded me that life is busy but beautiful.
I don’t think I have ready any blog of this sort and I have to say, this is very interesting way to take a quick glance back at the month. The music genre you mentioned I am reading about it for the first time. I had heard there’s something called ‘Funk’ but ‘Phonk’ is news for me. recently I leared to play a card game Cobo, that’s fun too. Maybe that can be your next one if you already don’t know.
You should try this type of blog then, Aditya! Cobo. Let’s see!
This post is basically my brain in January, equal parts optimism, chaos, and trying to finish a book I never started.
Cute post. Be happy. Be great. Take care, stay blessed, and yes, I will surely pray for you, Cindy.
Thank you, dear!
Got to know a little more of you. good luck, Cindy! Waiting to hear the good news!
Thanks, Janaki!
That was such a wholesome month for you. Wishing you all the best for the upcoming months.
Thank you, Reubenna!
Whoa! I was exhausted just going through all you have done. Hats offf to you girl . So proud of how you are handling everything. My best wishes and blessings with lots of love ❤️
Thank you, Harjeet!
I enjoyed this detailed post and huge congratulations both on having done so much and with the little one on its way. I am glad the surgery and aftermath of it was all good. And I hadn’t heard of ‘phonk’ and now have to hear to know what it is. All the best for your D-day.
Thank you, Chandrika!
Wow, such a lovely post, short, sweet, and still detailed with little nuggets of information. I loved this format. Suits is amazing. Hope you get the inspiration to finish it. To be entertained by children is a wonderful blessing. May this blessing last your entire lifetime.
Thank you, Ratna!
That seems productive, diverse, and entertaining. Loved reading every aspect. What intrigued me is ‘phonk songs,’ what on earth is that genre now 😅 Need to check it right away!!
Haha! Do check them out!
I love how you organized and made the most of that month. I have not been much productive off lately. I have watched haq, and started the Suits series. I know I’m late for it, but better late than never.
Suits is good. I just cannot finish it for some reason!
I love reading this type of posts – what you ate , what you saw , what you read etc – it is so much fun.
By the way for a pregnant lady , you are watching a lot of thrillers and action movies- just saying !
I did that too with my first one 😉
Hahahha, my friends were shocked with Dexter. Haha!
Lovely! You’ve captured the beautiful chaos of year-end and the hopeful stillness of new beginnings so well. It felt like reliving those moments of festivity, reflection, and pause all over again. Very relatable and heartwarming!
I love the post Cindy! Congratulations to your kiddos and all the best for Dday!
Thank you!
