4 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD GET A TEMPORARY HAIR COLOUR
How many times have you asked yourself, ‘should I colour my hair?’ At least once in this lifetime! While some of our hair colouring decisions are impulsive, some are well thought out over a year or two! Yes, I know a friend who planned for 2 years, before taking the plunge. I’m sure you are aware that there exist different types of hair colours in the market; permanent hair colours, temporary hair colours and more. Hair colouring is, after all, a multi-billion-dollar industry.
Ease of application and removal of temporary hair colours make it easier for us to make a choice among the various types of hair colours. On that note, if my blog inspires you enough to go for temporary hair colouring experiments, I suggest you try Anveya Colorisma, a 1-wash temporary hair color makeup that makes our hair colouring dreams come true sooner than we ever imagined! The cream-based colours come in convenient-to-carry tubes, too!
The idea of colouring hair is associated with adopting identities that people consciously or subconsciously desire to own. Every hair colour is tied to a stereotypical meaning. People wish to identify with these stereotypes. For instance, red hair colour gives you a fire-y, feisty look, blonde hair colour is seen as feminine and passionate, and a bold blue hair colour could mean you rise above the common looks and go for the unexplored. As the hair colours change, the identities change too. Isn’t it wonderful to transform just like that in one evening? Anyway, statistics suggest that the hair colour industry is showing little to no signs of shrinking. And why would it when such cool temporary hair colours exist?
If you’re looking for REASONS to get a soft balayage, brilliantly vibrant highlights, subtle lowlights, ombre hair colours or global hair colours with temporary hair colours, let me help you out!
What is balayage?
Simply put, balayage is a highlighting technique where the colour is hand-painted (no foil used) directly onto your hair, creating a more natural look.
If a hair colour suits your skin really well, you should definitely go get it done. Because, why not? It is ideal to choose a hair colour that’s opposite to your skin tone. Cool skin undertones look the most appealing with cool hair colours. On the other side, if you’ve warm undertones, you should go for warm hair colours. Finding the right hair colour is like finding your favourite flavour of chips. You have a wide number of choices among temporary hair colours, permanent hair colours, semi-permanent hair colours, and demi-permanent hair colours! You’ll never know which one you’d end up liking without actually giving it a shot. After application, if you feel like you were wrong about the colour, all you got to do is wash it off!
Come on now, are you telling us you haven’t been tempted to go for the lovely and irresistible lavender? It’s chic, classy and elite. Sporting such a colour so far from the safe natural hair colours, will make you feel like the queen bee you’ve always been. So, here’s a tip. Whenever you come across someone wearing lavender money pieces, you never ask why. Because it’s evidently a gorgeous choice. The fact that you can switch to a new look by evening, makes it all the more fun, doesn’t it?
Life does get monotonous sometimes. And who likes monotony? Not a fashion goddess for sure! Break the monotony of everyday life with temporary colours that’s brighter than life. Who wants to do brown hair colour, dark brown hair colour, light brown hair colour and chocolate brown hair or any colour closer to your natural hair colour in the 21st century when you can splash the vibrance, and get rainbow hues, highlights, balayage and money pieces every other day? Keep altering your personality the moment you feel it isn’t fun anymore. Let’s keep chanting the words spoken by Kylie Jenner, “Being yourself is what life is all about”, and keep charging ahead. There’s an uncountable range of hair colours for men and hair colours for women in the temporary hair colour field.
Imagine stretching your legs in a comfortable recliner and watching shows all day without any interruptions. Doesn’t that sound like a perfect Sunday? But can you follow the same routine every Sunday for 365 days of the year? No way, right? You might wake up on a Sunday morning with absolutely nothing to do. You tried everything! Watered the plants, washed clothes, cooked a meal, and called a friend and the day is still not over. You know Monday is lingering in the corner and you do not want to miss out on some Sunday fun. See, that’s your cue to play with temporary hair colours. Choose your hair colour from an elaborate set of options, pick your style and go for it.
If you’re telling me, you have never ever thought of temporarily colouring your hair even for a hot second, I would say you’re lying or perhaps in denial. These are just a few reasons I could think of from the hundred million reasons out there to get a temporary hair colour. So, do yourself a favour and colour your hair with a temporary colour you never thought you could pull and drop the jaws of all the haters out there with a unique and vibrant look.
Do share this forward if you know someone who would benefit from a different look! 😉

The only time I was tempted to colour my hair was at age 16. Have never done it after that worried that it will screw up the quality of my hair. However, once I develop greys and will inevitably have to colour my hair, I think I’ll be open to experimenting more!
Haha, I was thinking the same!
Thank you for sharing this temporary colours recommendations as it would be quite helpful for her annual day make up look
I needed this post. I had never ever coloured my hair and have naturally jet black Mane. However, few greys have started peeking here and there. I should try this temporary solution.
I had highlights for 5 years. Now that it’s gone and I had been thinking to get it again, your post had inspired me to get it ASAP.
Getting a temporary hair colour surely can instantly change the way you look at yourself. I mean, if you instantly look like glowing, you’d surely feel more confident, and therefore, be more productive and motivated in life in general. Simple changes like this are important not only for the changes it would do for you physically but more importantly what it can do for you internally.
I have been seeing ads recently for temporary hair colors though i have never tried it. Not sure of the hair damage….would love to try a pink or a purple
I color my hair once a year. I love to try new looks and hence highlight my hair. I also use temporary hair color as I keep changing it.
I am one of those who haven’t really experimented with hair color. Did try a brown once though and hated it. I do love it on others if done well.
hahaha….
Good to know about the temporary hair colour in detail through the blogpost along with the wise words of Kylie Jenner, “Being yourself is what life is all about”.
The maximum I have done is colored my hair black. For 30 years, not anymore. It is good to see so many options and some of them look really good. I will share this with my daughter although she is also not much fond of hair color too.
I was unaware of temporary color… I have to think about it now. For me, the only reason would be… BORED OF MONOTONY & NEED A DRASTIC CHANGE!
Hahahhaa, same here, Anjali!
I would love to colour my hair for a change, Cindy. But please tell me that the hair colour has no chemicals? I use organic hair colour and not dyes on my hair, regularly. Will I be able to apply it to the coloured hair? Wouldnt it damages my hair in any way? Please let me know as I would love to try Anveya temporary hair colour
I think you should direct all these questions to Anveya! But if you already have coloured hair then why colour it more?
I learned something new – balayage technique. Been experimenting with temp hair color for quite some time. Have used foil to create streaks of blue and red on my daughters hair. Will dig up more on balayage technique. Thanks for sharing Cindy!
The fact is that temporary colors are good to go I mean the 1 wash ones are simple, economic and easy to do, but not at all for the health of the hairs. At least 3 to 4 wash colors are always a better choice for especially those looking for grey cover and need to go out for daily work outside.
My hubby always asks me to get temp hair color, but somehow I never get it done. Your post enticed me to try it out once.
To be honest Cindy, I wasn’t aware of temporary colours… I would love to experiment. n wish I had read your blog before going for our beach vacay… I would have appeared in different hues😀
Lovely suggestions, I have been interested in blue its been a while still planning dunno when it’ll happen but definitely I know what Im using after reading this post.
