THE UNEXPECTED TRAIL BY NISHA THAKUR
The cover was displaying an eye, a man on a chair and two lovers, but wasn’t very attractive. Only the little drops of blood on the man made me curious to read the book!
Name: The Unexpected Trail – Murder In The Building

Rating: 3/5
Firstly, I felt that the title should have been ‘The unexpected trial’ instead of ‘trail’. But as I read the story, I realized that the ‘trail’ probably referred to the trail of unexpected decisions, revelations, relationships and feelings that followed the case. The subtitles were well thought out according to what was revealed in each chapter.
The story is written in Indian English.
The story began by showing the hunky-dory life of Tanvi and how it changes when her lover, Raj, finally proposes to her. Even though she is a smart girl, she puts her life on hold only for Raj. While Tanvi is thinking about her perfect wedding, she is unexpectedly dragged into a murder case and she has absolutely no clue why. As the mysterious case unfolds, she learns more about her loved ones, their objectives and their secrets. Even though some of them want to protect her with good intentions, others try to misguide her for their own benefit.
Tanvi is the quiet girl around whom all the drama is happening. After being held as the prime suspect, for reasons unknown to her, she learns to put herself first and be practical later in life.
I loved how the story was narrated and rolled into a good ending. The author surely believes in karma!
*The plot was well thought of and the characters were well described.
*Each detail was given perfectly so as to not confuse the reader.
*The story ended well without any unanswered questions.
While the story was awesome, the editing could have been better. There were a lot of grammatical errors that I came across. Perhaps if the editing was done efficiently, the book would have gotten a higher rating.
This was the first time I downloaded the Kindle App on the laptop and saw that the fonts were big and clear. I finished the book in 2 nights and enjoyed the story. This is a good story to read but a little more time spent on the book by the author could probably make this a best seller. I do recommend you read it anyway!
