exciting activities you can do with your kids in Dubai
Dubai is an Emirate city known for its brilliant constructions and awe-inspiring skyscrapers. It is also called a family-friendly city as there are plenty of things for families, especially those with kids, to enjoy. Right from amusement parks to educative and interactive attractions, there are numerous things in Dubai to keep your kids engaged and entertained. From toddlers to teenagers, Dubai is home to a number of activities for children of all ages.
Here are some of the exciting activities you can do with your kids in Dubai!
One of the most popular and exciting activities in Dubai is Ski Dubai; the largest indoor ski resort in the world. Located inside the Mall of the Emirates, Ski Dubai is where you can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, zorbing, ziplining, etc. It also has a Snow Park, where your kids can have fun playing in the snow. One of the major attractions at Ski Dubai is that it is home to some adorable penguins. Once you are done with Ski Dubai and Snow Park, you can visit the indoor café, enjoy the view of the place and sip on a cup of delicious hot chocolate.
If your kids love adventures, iFly Dubai is a place you must definitely visit. Your kids may not be old enough for the actual sky diving experience, but at iFly Dubai anyone over the age of 3 years can enjoy a flight under the supervision of expert skydivers. Located inside City Centre Mirdif, iFly Dubai is an indoor sky diving experience where you fly inside a vertical wind tunnel. You would be accompanied by a professional skydiver, who would not only ensure that you are safe but also help you learn some skills and tricks that you can try while sky diving.
The largest indoor amusement and theme park, the IMG Worlds of Adventure is a delight for both kids as well as adults. This theme park is divided into 5 zones: Marvel, Lost Valley, Cartoon Network, IMG Boulevard and Novo Cinemas. Each of the zones has rides, characters, attractions and retail stores based on that particular theme. The IMG Boulevard is where you enter the park and is home to several dining and retail stores. Here, you would also find the Haunted Hotel, which is only for the brave-hearted.
If your kids love dolphins, take them to Dubai Dolphinarium. This place is home to several bottlenose dolphins and seals. While visiting the place, you must watch the Dolphins and Seal Show, where you would get to see dolphins and seals sing, dance, jump, perform acrobatic stunts and paint. Moreover, if you are lucky, you may also get a chance to interact with these intelligent mammals. Some of the other attractions here include Dolphin Planet, Mirror Maze, Exotic Bird Show, etc.
There is no shortage of water parks in Dubai. However, if you want to choose one of the best amongst the lot, the Aquaventure Waterpark tops the list. Located inside the premises of Hotel Atlantis – The Palm, this is one of the biggest waterparks in the world. Moreover, you would find some of the state-of-the-art slides, rides and pools here. In fact, there is something for people of all ages here. One of the best things about Aquaventure Waterpark is that you get to access a private beach where you can enjoy some thrilling water sports and some delicious drinks as well.
One of the most unique facts about Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo is that it is located inside one of the largest shopping malls in the world, The Dubai Mall. As you enter the aquarium, you would be welcomed into one of the largest acrylic suspended tanks, which is home to more than 33,000 aquatic animals, including sharks, manta rays, etc. Apart from watching these marine animals, you can also enjoy some special experiences like shark diving, cage diving, etc. here. At the Underwater Zoo, you would also get to see animals like otters, penguins, snakes, crocodiles, etc.
KidZania is an indoor theme park where kids get the chance to learn while having fun. Located inside The Dubai Mall, here, kids get to learn and have fun simultaneously. Inside this mini-city, kids can choose amongst 40+ professions to role play, including those of doctors, nurses, shopkeepers, masons, firefighters, etc. The exciting part is that they not only get the chance to work like professionals but also earn KidZania money! Another attraction here is the KidZania Space Centre, where kids will be able to learn about the universe and astronauts in this real-life looking space centre.
There are several theme and water parks in Dubai. However, most of these places have rides and attractions for older kids and adults. In other words, these theme parks do not really cater to the little ones. But this is not the case with Legoland Dubai and Legoland Water Park. Part of the largest theme park Dubai Parks & Resorts, activities here are perfect for children between the ages of 2 and 12 years. All the zones, rides and other attractions here are based on the theme of Legos. There are different parks here that need separate entry tickets; however, it is possible to explore all of them in a day.
A recent addition to the numerous attractions of Dubai is the Ain Dubai which is the largest as well as tallest observation wheels in the world. While adults would have a good time enjoying the aerial view of the city, kids would be excited about riding on this large Ferris Wheel. A ride on one of the observation cubicles would also give you information on the main attractions and landmarks that you would see from here. Older kids or teenagers may also enjoy hosting their birthday parties at one of the private cubicles at Ain Dubai.
Another attraction in Dubai that educates and entertains kids is The Green Planet, Dubai. Green Planet is an indoor tropical forest that is home to more than 3000 species of animals, birds, and plants. Here, you will get to know the importance of rainforests for our planet. Divided into four zones (the Canopy, the Midstory, the Forest Floor and the Flooded Rainforest), you get to experience the magic of rainforests here. If you want to have a unique experience, you can also opt for overnight camping at Green Planet Dubai. The last time I checked, you can park your vehicle at the underground City Walk mall parking.
The Dubai Miracle Garden is an attraction that pleases both young and the old. Known to be the largest natural flower garden in the world, you would find more than 49 million flowers here. Moreover, the way these flowers are arranged make it all the more interesting. Kids would definitely love to see the Disney Avenue, where they would get to see the floral structures or statues of their favourite cartoon characters, especially Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, etc. Apart from this, there are floral displays of Emirates A380 airbus, Burj Khalifa, etc. here.
These are just some of the activities you can do with your kids in Dubai. Other things are visiting attractions like Bounce Dubai, Oli Oli, Wild Wadi Waterpark, Dolphin Bay, etc. Whichever place you choose to visit or activity you choose to do, I can assure you that you and your kids will have a great time in Dubai.
Already been to Dubai? What are your views on the above listed activities if you have visited them with kids?
