Handcrafted gifts are so in these days. They are gorgeous, unique and last for quite a while. Handcrafted textiles have a different feel. They talk about you, your personality and your aura.
Last week, I ordered this beautiful white dupatta (large shawl to wear over Indian wear mostly) for a friend as she loves handcrafted items. When iTokri approached me to order something from their website and review it, I thought of her immediately.
The process of selecting an item was quite a task because I wanted to order everything. Once the selection was made, the payment got done in less than a minute. This was followed by a confirmation email from them. Yup, that easy!
The item took around a week to arrive. I liked the recycled box (covered with newspaper) in which it was packed. A nice ‘plantable’ notepad was included in the box. It is too cute to be put in the mud, so let’s see once I’m done with it.
You can wear this dupatta with anything. Like my friend has worn it with her light teal coloured kurti top paired with a white churidar pant. She added some gorgeous jhumkaas to the look and completed it with a pair of juttis.
It was only fitting for her to give the product review.
“I love it! This is a beautiful cotton dupatta with applique work (decorative needlework where patches of material are cut into designs and stitched on a larger fabric to form a pattern). The work on the dupatta’s border and the motifs are gorgeous. This goes with many of my chikankari kurtis. It was quite stiff at first, but it softened once I washed it.”

If you love handcrafted textiles, do visit their website. They have various items like stoles, sarees, quilts, suit sets, skirts, bedcovers and more. They also have masks, hair accessories and rakhis.
I did not find any areas for improvement.
While I was going through their website, I went crazy. I mean the earrings were so pretty, the bedcovers so colourful and the bags had neat designs. I definitely recommend this website to all the handloom lovers, too. They deliver all over India, at your doorstep. So, yeah, I think it’s time to gift yourself something new, namely some gorgeous handcrafted textiles!
Have you tried this website before? What did you think of their collection?

Oh that’s awesome, Smitha!
The dupatta looks really beautiful and white is my fav as it can be clubbed with any color outfit. I am checking out their website to get some thing good for myself.
I loved the dupatta. White dupattas favorite. They can be used in many ways and look super elegant.
Oh yes. i loved the dupatta. Thank you Cindy for such a lovely surprise from iTokri.
The applique work on the dupatta’s border and the motifs are hand stitched. The work is patched completely with hand stitching and is excellent – very neatly done. While white is a classic & one of my favourites, iTokri also has many lovely designs in self and contrast colors. This quality of applique work dupattas are not easily available elsewhere.
You’re welcome, Vasumathi. Thank you for posing for me!
I have visited ITokri instagram page and simply love the products they feature. The white duppata is a beautiful piece of art.
It sure is!
