A diamond is forever. It is a girl’s best friend. These are the words that have been embedded in our minds since forever. Yes, natural diamonds are truly beautiful and do have their own charm. We love diamonds! But, did you know how they are brought to us from the Earth’s mantle?
Natural diamonds are mined under high pressures and temperatures. The mining process needs large amounts of water, land (causing deforestation and soil erosion) and energy. With the depleting resources and changing weather conditions around the world, don’t you think buying lab-grown diamonds instead exudes a sense of responsibility on our part?
Let’s see how and why!
Natural diamonds are formed over millions of years through geological processes, while lab-grown diamonds are created in a laboratory using advanced technology that replicates the natural process. Lab-grown diamonds are more easily available than natural diamonds.
Yes, lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds; composed of pure carbon, with the same physical, chemical and optical properties as natural diamonds. Only the origin of the two is different.
Like a naturally conceived baby and a test tube baby.
Lab-grown diamonds are just as durable and long-lasting as the natural ones, with the same hardness and resistance to scratch and wear.
Lab-grown diamonds can be a good investment as they retain their value. They will appreciate over time though we should ensure that they are certified during purchase.
You should buy a lab-grown diamond because of the following advantages:
– Affordable price point (up to 70% less than natural diamonds).
– Sustainable and eco-friendly production process.
– Conflict-free and ethical sourcing.
– Identical quality and characteristics as natural diamonds.
– One can easily get multiple pieces of the same shape, cut, colour and clarity.
– They are certified by GIA, IGI and many such organizations that certify these beautiful gems.
Lab-grown diamonds are a more sustainable option compared to the traditional ones for several reasons:
1. Environmental Impact: Lab-grown diamonds eliminate the need for large-scale mining which results in deforestation, habitat destruction, soil erosion and water pollution.
2. Minimal Carbon Footprint: Lab-grown diamonds have a significantly lower carbon footprint as they don’t require massive energy consumption for mining and transportation.
3. Water Conservation: Lab-grown diamonds use minimal water, unlike traditional diamond mining methods which consume vast amounts of water.
4. Conflict-Free: Lab-grown diamonds are free from the risk of financing conflicts or human rights abuse that are often associated with mining.
5. Ethical Sourcing: Lab-grown diamonds ensure transparent and ethical sourcing, eliminating concerns about child labour and exploitative practices.
6. Recyclable: Lab-grown diamonds can be recycled and reused, reducing waste and the demand for new raw materials.
When it comes to this solid form of carbon, the debate between natural and lab-grown is at par. But what sets them apart? Lab-grown diamonds are created in a laboratory, replicating the natural process, making them real diamonds with the same properties. They’re just as durable and long-lasting, and can even be a good investment. Plus, they’re affordable and enhance your style with sustainability. Whether you’re looking for an engagement ring or a statement piece, lab-grown diamonds shine bright with sustainable luxury!

Lab grown diamonds seem to be the future of this industry.
It is bit difficult to differentiate between fake and real diamonds. But your post is making the reader fall in love with diamonds. Even I dont like them much but now I want to try it atleast.
Diamonds are a girl’s best friend is just a catchy marketing jig that took the world by storm. We have the dark side of marketing to blame for many overhyped products in the world today. It’s uneasy to know that such jingles can manipulate the human behavior to this degree that we forego any care for our surroundings. At the end of the day, these are materialistic pleasures and if there is a way to satisfy ourselves without harming the environment and our fellow humans then I’m all for it!
I learned something new from your blog. I think Lab-grown diamonds are a brilliant choice for anyone who loves diamonds but wants to make an environmentally conscious decision.
this is a good change and truly working towards a sustainable society where mines grown diamonds being replaced with lab diamonds will surely make a difference if people start choosing them.
I love the idea of investing in lab-grown diamonds. It’s great that they’re affordable and still just as beautiful.
I prefer diamonds over gold any day and will definitely be checking out Ikaksh. Love their designs. Way more eco-friendly option and lighter on the pocket too.
There are only a limited number of natural diamonds and lab-growns are the best alternative. I am surely going to check Ikaksh. Beautiful designs.
Ikaksh seems like a nice brand for home/lab-grown diamonds. I never tried these lab-grown diamonds but I think, this is the time to rethink and start using less carbon (sustainable ) products and for any occasion, a little less priced jewellery is ok to maintain the pocket as well.
Diamonds are a girl’s best friend… the old song by Marilyn Monroe came to mind when I was reading your blog post. Frankly, I had no idea about lab grown diamonds and your article is an eye opener. The designs are pretty and if one can cut down on the costs while buying diamonds, these would be a great asset to own. Thank you for all the information.
I am a big advocate of sustainability so lab grown diamonds are a great option. However, I am yet to buy any lab grown as I have always invested in real ones
This is a wonderfully informative post! Lab-grown diamonds offer a brilliant and sustainable alternative to natural diamonds. They provide the same beauty and durability, but with a significantly lower environmental impact. It’s great to see options that are both ethical and stylish. Thanks for shedding light on the benefits of choosing lab-grown diamonds!
Lab-grown diamonds are an innovation in today’s world and truly sustainable for the environment. Their costs are so less with the same quality and occurrence is the icing on the cake
I love diamond jewelry but always found it to be prohibitively expensive so learning about lab grown ones is a great alternative that I didn’t even know was out there.
I was completely unaware of the lab grown diamonds and thank you for letting many like me to know that lab grown diamonds exists and they are equally good and priceless possession. Pakka today I am going to ask my hubby to gift me a Diamond Ring, especially the one you shared in the post.
They have a lot of varieties, do DM them.
Those are some really elegant diamond jewellery. Love the way you explained the difference between lab grown and natural diamond and which option is more substantial to use. Nice share.
Natural diamonds – I know only this diamonds which are mined. Lab grown diamond looks beautiful and more sustainable. I didn’t aware that diamonds can grow in labs too. It is really environmental friendly process. I am loving it. I hope the price are less than the natural diamonds. The necklace is pretty 😍
I wasn’t aware of the plus points of lab grown diamonds. Thanks for the useful information. And I think it makes sense to get purity when it is available at a much lower price, plus is a sustainable option too.
Amazing blog post for two reasons, one that I had no clue that lab-grown diamonds are so identical to naturally-occuring ones, and two of course is the sustainability factor. Why strip Mother Earth of her beauty if better and equally good (not to mention cheaper) options are available. Awesome post.
What an amazing piece. I did not know about the differences about natural and lab-grown diamonds. This piece was so informative.
Not a serious diamond lover so natural or lab-grown doesn’t matter a lot to me. The latter is the better choice any day as its cheaper and gives us the same joy of wearing while being better for our environment too.
I came to know about lab-grown diamonds from an exhibition I visited earlier this year. These are more sustainable, easy on the pocket and certified by renowned organizations. I hope people will buy more lab-grown diamonds in the coming years.
This, besides spreading awareness about and promoting sustainability, also bursts so many myths people might have around such diamonds. Thanks for sharing it Cindy. Hope more people buy diamonds through this route
Absolutely agree with you, Cindy. I am all for sustainability in every aspect of our lives. Natural diamonds take years to make and will soon be extinct. It is better for the environment and for human life saved in mining to opt for lab grown diamonds. Love the jewelry designs that you are wearing.
Thank you, Harjeet.
‘Diamonds are forever,’ whether lab grown or naturally found, and if the chemical composition is the same, it’s ideal to wear lab grown ones. Apart from the environmental aspects, mining is a huge risk to human life and the miners are underpaid and exploited. It’s a sorry state of affair. Considering all that, yes lab grown ones are the best.
Btw, some of the pieces in the pics are really pretty 😍. I m just curious, so they are less expensive than the mined ones if I understood you correct right?
Yes, Kaveri. Way less.
Beautiful set in the pics. I also feel, we need to move out of the old and into the new. Natural diamonds are priceless, but we have to stop being harsh on the environment. These alternatives sound really good and look good as well.
They have the best collection of jwellery and at reasonable prices. This is a truly informative piece that will help people to decide when buying diamonds. Definitely checkout.
I’m not much into jewelry but this blog post gave me great information that I didn’t know I needed. Appreciate you sharing this information about diamonds with us!
For me too Cindy, the fact that they are conflict-free and ethically sourced plays a big role to incline towards artificial diamonds. The small price tag is just another bonus!
I’m impressed by IKAKSH’s commitment to blending style with sustainability through their diamond jewelry. It’s refreshing to see a brand prioritize ethical practices and quality craftsmanship. Sustainability in fashion is definitely the future we need to embrace!
I was not aware of the detailed differences between natural and lab-made diamonds. This is a truly informative piece that will help people to decide when buying diamonds. I can see now why the Lab-grown diamonds are a better choice.
Your blog post is incredibly informative and well-structured, making complex information easily understandable. The clear comparisons and detailed insights provide valuable guidance for anyone considering diamond purchases.
