I have always loved the camera. Looking at my childhood pictures, posing seemed to be my forte.
I was around 7 when we arrived in Mumbai for the first time, courtesy the Gulf War. I was introduced to the world of captures and memories when someone put a camera in my hand. After that, my mother went crazy visiting the studio below our building to wash the negatives almost every two months, only to find blurry pictures and, sometimes, herself in weird poses. I loved capturing people and memories. My mom began to pray for an invention where we could see what was captured before they were printed. A few years later, God answered her prayers, and out came digital cameras on the market shelves.
With my hard-earned money, I bought my first digital camera in December 2001. I had begun working a couple of months earlier. Though I continued clicking numerous pictures after that, my mom was relaxed. I didn’t need her to get the pictures printed. I was happy capturing the scenes and viewing the images on my new digital camera. So, she never had to visit another studio again!
Now, I think I’m pretty okay with my captures, though I have limited knowledge of the technicalities. I won’t say I have when I clearly don’t. My mom’s encouragement helped me learn through practice. That’s all.
Here are my clicks in recent years. Let me know what you think of the recent pictures (since 2018), though the images have been compressed here!
You can see of my old clicks on my FB page: https://www.facebook.com/cindydsilvaclicks because I now upload the good pictures on PEXELS. At least it can help someone in some way, right?
